Asus announced Padfone Infinity at Mobile World Congress 2013. Padfone Infinity smartphone coming in two parts, a 5-inch, 1080p 4G LTE phone that can become a 10.1-inch tablet when docked to its PadFone Infinity Station companion. The new Padfone Infinity comes with a sleek aluminum alloy body with brushed metal finish.  Asus wants to sell you just one device to do both jobs. This is the idea behind both the Padfone Infinity and the Fonepad.

Asus Padfone Infinity smartphone comes with Qualcomm APQ8064T Snapdragon 600 chipset powered by powerful Quad-core 1.7 GHz Krait processor and Adreno 320 graphics with 2 GB of RAM that runs on Google's latest Android OS, v4.2 (Jelly Bean). This device boost with 5.0 inches Super IPS+ LCD Capactive touchscreen display given pixel density approximately 441 ppi. To use it in tablet mode, users must dock the phablet behind the 10-inch tablet display. Switching between phone and tablet mode is much smoother with the Padfone Infinity. It will be useful for those who want to watch movies or read on a larger screen.

In terms of camera optics, Padfone Infinity has 13 MP rear with autofocus, LED flash and features Geo-tagging, touch focus, face detection and 1080p@30fps or 720p@60fps. The rear camera also has Sony BSI sensor and wide f/2.0 aperture for better low-light performance. This device also has 2 MP front facing camera for video calling and 1080p@30fps (Frame per second) HD video  recording. The Padfone Infinity phone cum tablet combo will come in 32GB or 64GB versions and no microSD card slot for external storage.

This smartphone also has a some good connectivity options include Wi-Fi for wireless internet connectivity, Bluetooth for sharing data and microUSB and 2G, 3G and 4G LTE network and GPS with A-GPS support and it also comes with a host of sensors like Accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass. This device packs in 2,400mAh non-removable battery and tablet packs a 5,000mAh battery. The tablet part of PadFone Infinity is simply a shell and doesn’t work until you dock the smartphone into the back because it is powered completely by phone that docks in it, so it does not have a standalone processor. Once phone connected, it provides access to everything have on your smartphone, and it automatically reformats everything to fit on a 10.1-inch, 1,920 x 1,200 pixel touchscreen.
